This summer has been a whirlwind of planning for myself and for the teachers who have donated many hours of their time off in order to be prepared for what promises to be a unique school year. In order to ensure that we are ready to hit the ground running with our new configuration, the new regulations we must abide by and the new procedures that will accompany being at school, we have decided to delay the start of the school year to Monday, August 24. The three school days that would have taken place the week prior will be filled with trainings, team planning, and preparation for implementing the changes that this school year presents.
While the situation could change at any moment, based on the communication we have received from state and local health agencies, we are optimistic that we will be able to begin our school year with five-day-a-week learning at school for all of our students, Phase 4. This is a monumental undertaking for us, but we are committed to doing what we can to make this a reality for you, our valued Rivendell families. Our class lists will be finalized during the next two weeks and you can expect to receive a call from your child’s teacher on August 13th.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. I have had so many of you reach out with words of encouragement and gratitude. The Rivendell community has such amazing people and I feel lucky to be part of it.
I look forward to another great school year, and although things are going to look different, I am excited to be back among staff and students.
