Younger Kids familiarized themselves with the keyboard before break, and 1st graders are taking the next step: learning to touch-type, just like Middle and Older Kids. I believe that by starting them earlier, they will develop few bad habits, and become better typists by the time they graduate Rivendell.
Now, they've gotten to use their skills for that everyday computer task: searching for information. They had to type in the names of various Central and South American animals they are studying about, to find web sites, pictures and videos. We used the kiddle.co search engine for kids. They found some fascinating information... even I learned a few new things!
