I became Rivendell’s Music Teacher in January 2025. I wanted to join the staff when I saw how Rivendell uses music to build community, connect with wider learning, and foster social and emotional growth.

My formal training includes a Master of Music degree and a Bachelor of Music degree, both with a Vocal Performance concentration. Over the years, I’ve been employed as a professional singer, a music director, preschool teacher, choir conductor, and private voice teacher.

Whether I’m preparing students for a performance, or facilitating a music theory analysis, I always strive to create a sense of joy in learning. As we explore music fundamentals, I invite students to use their singing voice, along with movement, games, and rhythm instruments. As we progress to more advanced concepts, I introduce a variety of instruments, such as xylophones, drums, and ukuleles. My goal is to help all learners feel capable and included as they experience Rivendell’s impressive music program.

When I’m not at Rivendell, I love spending time with my husband and our two sons. I also enjoy xeriscape gardening, tending to my houseplants, and hanging out with our two rescue dogs.
