I moved to northern Colorado with my husband, who accepted a position at UNC Greely. I found Rivendell and was immediately so impressed with the individualized instruction, strong community, and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and spent five years teaching transitional kindergarten at a private school in Laramie, Wyoming. In 2025, I earned my Orton-Gillingham classroom educator certification, because my heart breaks for those struggling readers who are passed on to the next grade without getting the explicit instruction they need to be successful readers. I am driven to make sure that every student in my classroom has a solid foundation and the tools they need to succeed academically and social-emotionally.

At the heart of my teaching is the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe. I strive to build a classroom community where students know they belong, celebrate one another’s successes, learn from mistakes, and grow with confidence and resilience. Through intentional social-emotional learning strategies, high expectations, and research-based, responsive instruction, I support each student’s academic and personal growth. I also believe that strong partnerships with families are essential, and I value open communication and collaboration to ensure every child is supported. As an educator, I am committed to continuous learning, reflection, and professional growth so I can best meet the evolving needs of my students.

Outside of school, you can find my husband and I hiking and enjoying the mountains. I also love to walk and cuddle with my French bulldog, Mugsy. The thing I love to do most is spend time with my family.
