I first found my love of teaching and educating students through youth sports. I have been coaching basketball within Poudre School District since 2019, and this has fostered my eventual desire to pursue teaching as a career. I got the opportunity to join the team at Rivendell as a guest teacher during the 2025-2026 school year, and fell in love with the culture and mission of the school. What makes Rivendell so unique is the individualized approach to educating each student based on their specific needs, which creates a community where students feel heard and included all while receiving an education that promotes life long learning habits.

In my role as Physical Education teacher at Rivendell, I aim to create a community where students feel they can be themselves and have fun, all while teaching the importance of activity and movement in everyday life. I have coached youth sports of all different levels and ages, and that has translated directly into my teaching philosophy in many ways. I value creating strong connections with students, as this allows me to better understand their individual needs. I believe that students learn best in an environment where they feel safe and protected, all while receiving feedback that helps them grow as individualized learners. Rather than just playing sports every day, students will learn the importance of physical activity and movement through a variety of exercises, games, and activities.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family, coaching, and camping. My love for trail and ultra running allows me to explore and train in some of the most beautiful mountains in Colorado.
