I’m thrilled to be a part of the Rivendell community! I was drawn to Rivendell because of its strong sense of community and its focus on knowing and supporting students as individuals. With my background as an art educator, I feel lucky to be at school where students are celebrated for using curiosity and creativity to guide their learning.
I graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2023 with a degree in Art Education and a Colorado K–12 teaching license in Visual Arts. I grew up in Fort Collins and then moved to Durango Colorado for college. It was such a gift to be able to study and teach in such a beautiful mountain town but was eventually drawn back to Fort Collins to be closer to family and friends.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various elementary schools throughout Colorado, where I worked closely with students, families, and school staff. My core belief as an educator is that it is so important to create a positive, welcoming environment where students feel known, supported, and comfortable. I also believe strong relationships are at the heart of a great school community. In my role as Office Lead, I hope to be someone students and families can rely on and feel comfortable coming to. I enjoy getting to know students, celebrating their accomplishments, and helping create a school environment where everyone feels valued and connected.
Outside of school, you can find me working on new art projects, playing frisbee with my dog, in the mountains, likely near a river with my book, baking and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited to be here at Rivendell!
