My journey to Rivendell is one of self-discovery and transition. I graduated from college in 2008 with a degree in communications and a minor in film and video studies. I spent most of my career working as a video producer for marketing departments in many different sectors. I enjoyed my work, but felt like something was missing, so I began to search for opportunities that felt more rewarding.
I started working aftercare and summer camps at Rivendell in 2022. I found that working around children came very naturally and I grew to love the connections that I was building at the school. In 2024, I accepted a teaching assistant position in the Pre-K classroom and I've never felt more fulfilled in a career. I believe in intentional and individualized teaching for children. My goal is to create harmony and structure in the classroom, while also being extremely silly and finding the humor and joy in my students' storytelling and play.
Outside of Rivendell, I'm currently enrolled at FRCC pursuing an associates degree in Early Childhood Education. My partner Anna and I have two dogs, Jo and Bea. We love to spend time at the Lyric, a local arts venue/movie theater, sing karaoke, and paddle board on the reservoir.
