If your kiddo loves nature and experimenting with different art materials, then this summer's craft camp is ideal for them. We will practice handwork and work play. We “play” with natural objects and materials such as wood, stones, clay, felt, paper + more! Each project is planned so that children build skills while satisfying their need to explore and create. We will take a walking field trip to Edora Park to gather natural materials for our nature-inspired art projects.

(4 day camp due to the Memorial Day holiday. No camp Monday, May 27th.)

Whether it is the wavy lines of seaweed, bright colors of fish and coral, or a variety of textures in sand and shells, the sea will always be inspiring to artists! In this camp, artists will have a chance to make drawings, paintings, sculptures, and collages to capture different beautiful aspects of the ocean and its life! The turtles and fish, the blues and greens of the water, or even the ships and subs that explore, we will make projects that celebrate the sea! So come dive in with us!

We will have a week together, exploring lots of different and unusual painting techniques! We will try painting with tools and mediums that you never even thought of! We’ll make art pieces using tools like bubble wrap, foil, squirt guns, feathers, and strings of beads. Or how about potatoes, bubbles, balloons and toothbrushes? Almost any item can be an art tool that produces unique and unusual patterns and textures. Come discover the amazing art that waits all around us!

Join us once again and get those hands in the mud! Whether you are a first time potter or a continuing student, this class will inspire you. We will spend two weeks creating masterpieces from clay. We will focus on hand building skills, teaching you the step-by-step process of transforming clay into usable pieces, as well as works of art which you can cherish for years to come. Pottery is an art form that you can continue to enjoy your entire lives, so how about getting started now!

*This camp is only available for two week enrollment since we build our projects the first week, fire them over the weekend, and finish and glaze them the second week. This is also a class with important demonstrations first thing each morning. Please try not to schedule conflicting appointments.

As we paint, draw and build, we will reflect the intricate patterns and designs found in the natural world. We'll take a walk to the park to collect our media and get inspiration. We welcome all “budding and blossoming” artists!
