At Rivendell School, students are taught and learn to explore the creative process in their own way. Teachers are trained in encouraging creative behaviors in students as well as assisting students in self-evaluating their own creative products. There are many opportunities to infuse creativity into the learning experience at Rivendell, whether it’s through creative play, thematic topic units, or research and presentations. One of the most exciting events of the school year, Rivendell’s Annual Art Walk, is an example of students proudly exhibiting their unique creativity and artistic skills. As you walk through the hallways to admire projects, you’ll notice students are allowed to incorporate their own choices and strengths into their creative experiences! You will also see amazing collaborative artwork, including Rivendell’s “Learn to Grow” tree structure made from blocks of wood decorated by students with their life stories and inspirations.
Rivendell’s Sixth Annual Art Walk is on February 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. We can’t wait to see students’ imaginative creations!
